Foray Update - Registration Closing Soon!
Hello and a reminder. We're meeting in less than a month at Blackwater Falls for the 15th annual WV Mushroom Club Foray! Only a few spots remain for registrants.
Conditions are cool and moist, foraging will be bountiful. Please bring mushrooms from your woods so we can get started with our ID tables on Friday. Walt will get started in the afternoon organizing and setting up.
Early birds arriving Thursday can meet in the Music Room for an informal gathering.
Registration will open Friday @ 9:30 am and Saturday 8 am outside of the Harr Conference Room.
A reminder that if you are staying at Blackwater Falls Park please let the front desk know you are with the Club. We are close to getting a sweet discount on our # of room rentals.

We have been scouting some new locations for walks including lower elevation sights at Horseshoe Bend and below the wind farm near the Maryland border. So far we have 10 places we can explore locally. Max Dubansky will lead a long hike in Otter Creek for those who want to stay in the woods longer, pack your lunch!
Saturday afternoon after our hikes, Adam Haritan will start out with Fungal Toxins In Modern Medicine followed by Mushrooms of the Gulf Coast with Alan Bessette. Olga Tzogas from Smugtown Mushrooms will be presenting Fungi and Culture of Greece.
Following these the ever popular table talks with Walt, Alan, Django, and John. The delicious wild tasting with White Grass Cafe will put us all in a great mood for Saturday night. John Plischke's Boletes of New England will be presented at 6:30 pm. Nights nearby Davis and Thomas fun follows with Furnace Mountain at the Fiddle, mushroom drinks at the Billy Hotel with Kyle, and the award winning Stumptown Ales.
Sunday morning we will offer a Mushroom Medicine class with Nina from Virginia's mycological Mush Luv. We will take another couple of Park hikes and meet back at the lodge at noon. Another fun weekend under our belts. The club has been working hard to ensure a great weekend. Remember to bring something for the silent auction, spare egg cartons for collecting, some mushrooms from your woods, and possible cool wet weather clothing. We hunt mushrooms rain or shine.
